EMWD Recognized as Forward-Thinking Utility
Perris, CA (September 24, 2020) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has been recognized with the 2020 Utility of the Future Today award for EMWD’s groundbreaking approach to expanding its recycled water system.
EMWD is one of 65 water utilities nationwide to be honored with the award, which highlights transformational work in community engagement, watershed stewardship and resource management.
EMWD Encourages Emergency Preparedness
Perris, CA (September 10, 2020) — September is National Preparedness Month so Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) wants to take the opportunity to remind its customers of the importance of being prepared in the event of a major emergency – such as an earthquake – that could result in an extended interruption of water service.
EMWD Achieves Seventh Consecutive Cal STAR Safety Recertification
Perris, CA (August 28, 2020) – This week Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) received recognition and recertification by the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal/OSHA) for its industry-leading safety achievements.
EMWD again obtained Cal/OSHA Voluntary Protection Plan STAR status, exemplifying the safety culture and corresponding recognition it first achieved and has continuously held since 1999.
EMWD Releases Annual Water Quality Report
Perris, CA (June 25, 2020) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has released its 2019 Consumer Confidence Report, which provides customers information about their drinking water quality and sources.
EMWD again met or surpassed all state and federal drinking water standards, as established by the State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
State Board Increases EMWD-Record Grant Award
Perris, CA (June 11, 2020) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) today finalized an agreement with the State Water Resources Control Board (State Board) that will significantly increase what was already the largest grant award in EMWD’s history.
The State Board has increased EMWD’s $36.3 million grant award to $44.9 million for EMWD’s proposed Perris North Groundwater Program. The program is a long-term solution to improve groundwater quality in the North Perris Groundwater Basin, in the Moreno Valley area.
EMWD Announces Student Art Contest Winners
Perris, CA (May 27, 2020) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has announced the winners of its 2020 Poster Contest, which is open to all elementary school students in EMWD’s service area.
The annual contest allows grade school students to create a poster as part of the “Water is Life” art contest run by The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. A panel of judges from EMWD and Rancho California Water District selected the winners.

Riverside County’s family of water agencies reassures customers that their tap water is safe, their system is reliable
Riverside County’s family of water agencies this past week launched a collaborative campaign with a goal to continue assuring customers that the region is coming together during this unprecedented time to maintain essential services to the communities they serve. The regional campaign aims to reinforce the collective efforts the agencies have undertaken as essential service providers to protect public health during the COVID-19 (corona virus) pandemic.
EMWD Closes Public Access to Promote Public Health
Perris, CA (March 18, 2020) — In response to public health recommendations surrounding the outbreak and spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) this week closed its main lobbies to the public until further notice.
There will be no interruption in water, wastewater or recycled water services during this period.
EMWD Launches New ‘My Account’ Customer Portal
Perris, CA (January 9, 2020) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) this week debuted its new ‘My Account’ customer portal, which will provide an expanded array of online tools to help customers monitor water use and conduct business with EMWD.
The new portal – www.emwd.org/MyAccount – is the first phase of a long-term commitment to provide enhanced features on EMWD’s bill pay website.
