Rent and Utility Assistance Program Hosts Event at EMWD

Perris, CA (September 23, 2021) — The Inland Southern California United Way and the County of Riverside will host United Lift, a rent and utility assistance event, at Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) on September 30, 2021.

The event will run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and will be held at EMWD’s main office, located at 2270 Trumble Road, Perris, CA.

The United Lift program will provide up to 12 months of back rent and utilities, and three months of future rent assistance. The program is available to Riverside County residents.

EMWD, Regional Agencies Partner on Historic Water Storage Program

Perris, CA (September 22, 2021) — Six regional water agencies working in conjunction with The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) have reached a historic agreement that will better prepare the region for future droughts and promote water use efficiency throughout a three-county area, the agencies announced this week.

EMWD Program Recognized with Resource Efficiency and Community Service Award

Perris, CA (September 1, 2021) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) was honored today as the winner of the 2021 California Municipal Utilities Association’s Resource Efficiency and Community Service Award for large agencies in the water sector.

EMWD was recognized for its nationally renowned Recycled Water Accelerated Retrofit Program, which helps EMWD’s commercial, industrial and institutional customers transition landscape areas to recycled water while also promoting water conservation programs in the process.

EMWD Encourages Tap Water for Reusable Bottles as Students Return to Classrooms

Perris, CA (August 24, 2021) — With schools resuming in-person education this month, Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) wants to remind parents and students that a reusable water bottle is an important part of back-to-school supplies.

EMWD encourages the use of reusable water bottles that can be filled and refilled with EMWD tap water throughout the day, helping students remain hydrated while in class and during after-school activities.

EMWD Launches Landscapes for Living Program

Perris, CA (July 26, 2021) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has launched a new outdoor water use efficiency program for its residential customers called Landscapes for Living.  Designed to help residents create beautiful, low-maintenance and water efficient front and backyards, Landscapes for Living includes multiple cost-saving rebates and free installation of water saving equipment.

Four water agencies today announced the launch of a new regional partnership to increase awareness of and advocate for solutions to regional water quality and supply challenges. The Inland Empire Clean Water Partnership (IE CWP) is launching as many municipalities face challenges surrounding dry-weather conditions and we approach another hot summer in Southern California.

EMWD Introduces Latest Education Book

Perris, CA (June 29, 2021) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is proud to introduce “Frog and Turtle: Water Escapades” as the newest in its ongoing series of educational books.

The comic book inspired story details where EMWD’s water supplies come from, with a frog and a turtle discovering that they are living through an ongoing drought and learning about their water supplies to better understand how to use water more efficiently.

EMWD Releases Annual Water Quality Report

Perris, CA (June 24, 2021) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has released its 2020 Consumer Confidence Report, which provides a science-based overview of EMWD’s drinking water quality and sources from the prior calendar year.

EMWD once again met and surpassed all state and federal drinking water standards as set forth by the State Water Resources Control Board and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The report is issued on or before July 1 each year.

EMWD Team Excels in Solar Cup Competition

Perris, CA (June 15, 2021) — A local high school team sponsored by Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) won a first and third place trophy during the recent Solar Cup competition.

Solar Cup is sponsored by The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and is designed to teach high school students about science, technology, and water conservation as part of its annual program.

EMWD Announces Winner of First-Ever Education Video Contest

Perris, CA (June 3, 2021) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is proud to announce the winner of its inaugural video contest for high school students that highlights where EMWD’s water supplies originate from and what happens after they use it.

Robyn Romo, a junior at Canyon Springs High School in the Moreno Valley Unified School District, was selected the winner of the contest, which was open to students within EMWD’s 555-square mile service area in western Riverside County.
