EMWD Announces Student Art Contest Winners

Perris, CA (May 27, 2020) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has announced the winners of its 2020 Poster Contest, which is open to all elementary school students in EMWD’s service area.

The annual contest allows grade school students to create a poster as part of the “Water is Life” art contest run by The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. A panel of judges from EMWD and Rancho California Water District selected the winners.

The contest winners this year include:

  • Marissa Vargas, 5th Grade; Megan Cope Elementary School; San Jacinto Unified School District
  • Melina Lourenco, 5th Grade; Valley View Elementary School; Nuview Union School District
  • Monica Perez, 5th Grade; Columbia Elementary School; Val Verde Unified School District
  • Eden Yarborough, 5th Grade; Park Hill Elementary School; San Jacinto Unified School District
  • Angelique Herbert, 4th Grade; Mesa View Elementary School; Romoland School District
  • Adriel Gallo, 3rd Grade; Creekside Elementary School; Moreno Valley Unified School District
  • Wendy Viridiana Manzano, 3rd Grade; Perris Elementary School; Perris Elementary School District
  • Avery Vasquez, 2nd Grade; Evans Ranch Elementary School; Menifee Union School District
  • Ramon Arriaga, 1st Grade; Valle Vista Elementary School; Hemet Unified School District
  • Nadia Ridges, Kindergarten; North Ridge Elementary School; Moreno Valley Unified School District
  • Nickolas Perez, Transitional Kindergarten; Hendrick Ranch Elementary School; Moreno Valley Unified School District

EMWD’s award-winning education program reaches approximately 60,000 students annually with water conservation and related stewardship messages through a variety of classroom and field trip programs.
