Wastewater Service

EMWD provides wastewater services to approximately 268,000 customers within its service area and currently treats approximately 49 million gallons per day of wastewater at its four active regional water reclamation facilities through 1,813 miles of sewer pipelines.

Treatment Process

EMWD treats wastewater to reuse for beneficial purposes. Every gallon of water that can be reused means that one more gallon can remain underground; or one more gallon doesn’t need to be imported from Northern California or from the Colorado River.

EMWD’s Regional Water Reclamation Facilities 

EMWD has four active regional water reclamation facilities which treat approximately 49 million gallons of wastewater every day.
