The State Water Resources Control Board adopted the Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirement for Sanitary Sewer Systems (WDR SSS) on May 2, 2006 that required the development and implementation of a Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP). The purpose of the SSMP is to document EMWD’s program to properly operate and maintain its sanitary sewer system.
