EMWD to Expand Recycled Water Infrastructure in French Valley
Perris, CA (August 3, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District’s (EMWD) Board of Directors today approved the award of a $4.4 million contract to construct Phase II of the French Valley Recycled Water Pipeline, which will greatly expand recycled water service in the French Valley community.

EMWD Receives $8M in Federal Funds for Trio of Key Projects
Perris, CA (June 30, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) this week received notice that approximately $8 million in federal funding is being advanced to support a trio of critical infrastructure projects that will improve groundwater quality and supply and provide safe and reliable wastewater service throughout its service area.
The Fiscal Year 2023 Interior-EPA Appropriations Bill released last week will help fund those projects through the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s State and Tribal Assistance Grants Program.
EMWD Dedicates Third Desalination Facility
Perris, CA (June 23, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) today celebrated the opening of its new groundwater desalination facility, which will provide additional local water supply reliability to its service area for future generations.
The Perris II Desalination Facility is EMWD’s third groundwater desalter and will provide enough water for more than 15,000 households each year through its reverse osmosis treatment process. The facility is located in Menifee, adjacent to the existing Menifee I and Perris I desalters.
EMWD Publishes Annual Water Quality Report
Perris, CA (June 15, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has released its annual Consumer Confidence Report, which provides science-based information about EMWD’s water quality and sources from the 2021 calendar year.
EMWD has again met and surpassed all state and federal drinking water standards set forth by the State Water Resources Control Board and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Riverside County Provides ARPA Funding for Trio of EMWD Projects
Perris, CA (May 23, 2022) — The Riverside County Board of Supervisors recently approved more than $10.5 million in federal funding for three Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) projects that will improve water and wastewater services in the region.
The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the funding expenditure, which was backed by County Supervisor Chuck Washington. All three projects are in District 3, which Washington represents.
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding will help support the following projects by EMWD:

Being Prepared is Key During a Disaster
Perris, CA (April 5, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) encourages you to be ready in the event of a disaster.
April is national Earthquake Preparedness Month and a great time to update the earthquake kit in your home or business to be better prepared in the event of a temporary and unavoidable water service outage because of a natural disaster.
Earthquake kits should have two gallons of water per person, per day, with a three day supply on hand. Pet owners should also keep additional water available for their animals.
Regional Landscape Contest Accepting Entries Starting April 1
Perris, CA (March 30, 2022) — Do you have a beautiful, water-efficient landscape that is the envy of your neighborhood? If so, it may be award-winning.
Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) customers who have shown a commitment to drought-tolerant landscaping are encouraged to participate in the 2022 Inland Empire Landscape Contest, which is accepting applications from April 1 through May 17, 2022.
The contest is hosted by regional water suppliers and cities across the Inland Empire area, including the area served by EMWD.
EMWD Receives Federal Funding Boost for Local Projects
Perris, CA (March 23, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has received $3.5 million in federal funding for two projects that will improve services in economically disadvantaged communities thanks in large part to two local congressional representatives.
The recently signed into law FY 2022 omnibus appropriations bill provided two United States Environmental Protection Agency State and Tribal Assistance Grants to EMWD for water and wastewater services.
EMWD Celebrates World Water Day

World Water Day was established in 1993 and is observed annually by the United Nations to raise awareness of the 2 billion people globally without access to safe water.
EMWD Banners Highlight Commitments to Recycled Water
Perris, CA (March 21, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is highlighting the commitment to responsible water use by its recycled water customers during California’s ongoing drought.
This month, EMWD began installing banners in the community at prominent sites that use recycled water, including schools, parks and at agricultural farms throughout its service area.
The banners promote recycled water being used and include the phrase “The right water for the right use.” EMWD conducted a similar campaign during California’s previous drought.
Fix A Leak Week Offers Chance for Water, Cost Savings
Perris, CA (March 14, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) encourages customers to check their homes and landscape irrigation systems during National Fix A Leak Week from March 14-20, 2022.
The annual week was established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to promote the importance of fixing leaks in order to help save water. The EPA estimates that household leaks can waste nearly one trillion gallons of water annually across the nation.
EMWD Honored for Innovative Work in Recycled Water
Perris, CA (March 8, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) was honored today by the national WateReuse Association with its Transformational Innovation Award for EMWD’s work in helping to pilot test a technology to reduce salts in recycled water.
EMWD was recognized at the WateReuse National Conference in San Antonio, Tex., where it received the award for its Closed Circuit Reverse Osmosis (CCRO) pilot project.
