Perris, CA (May 4, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is celebrating Drinking Water Week by celebrating its most vital service: Delivering safe and reliable drinking water to nearly one million people in its service area.

Drinking Water Week was created by the American Water Works Association to highlight the importance of clean and reliable water service throughout the country.

EMWD is proud to meet every state and federal drinking water standard and conducts approximately 45,000 water quality tests each year to ensure its customers have confidence in its drinking water supplies. The results of those tests are released annually in its Consumer Confidence Report.

EMWD has a diverse drinking water supply portfolio that helps ensure both system reliability and water quality. Those sources include imported water from the State Water Project and Colorado River systems, local groundwater, and groundwater desalination.

Tap water is not only safe, but also an excellent value. A gallon of tap water costs approximately $0.0015 – which means six gallons are just one penny. That is easily the best value around.
