Perris, CA (May 30, 2019) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is hosting a student artwork exhibit from June 4-11, 2019, which includes three dozen award winning pieces from throughout Southern California.

Each year, The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) hosts the “Water is Life” student art contest through education programs offered by local water agencies. The winning artwork from throughout MWD’s service area is used in an annual calendar and becomes part of a traveling art show.

The 36 winning entries will be on display during normal business hours at EMWD’s Main Office and Board Room before moving on to another MWD member agency.

The winning students from EMWD’s service area are:

  • Elle Manners, Kindergarten, Southshore Elementary School, Menifee
  • Abraham Wilson, Second Grade, McSweeny Elementary School, Hemet

“EMWD is proud to be a leader in bringing water education into the classrooms, and the artwork produced by these talented students is inspiring,” EMWD President Ron Sullivan said. “It is vital that we continue to educate the next generation as to the importance of using water wisely, and the poster art contest provides a creative avenue in doing so.”

EMWD’s Main Office is located at 2270 Trumble Road, Perris, Calif., and is open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
