Perris, CA (December 20, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) employees this holiday season are continuing their year-long commitment to giving back to their community through charity work and donations.

EMWD employees donate to a wide range of causes throughout the year, including through automatic payroll deductions to local and industry efforts. The largest single donation effort in 2022 was Water For People, which helps disadvantaged communities throughout the world receive the infrastructure necessary to provide safe water and sanitation services.

EMWD employees are on track to donate nearly $8,000 to Water For People in 2022.

EMWD also gives back through its Can People program, which supports active-duty troops. EMWD employees will donate nearly $4,000 this year to the program, in addition to significant direct donations of items such as baked goods, candy, personal hygiene items and more.

This holiday season, EMWD employees are also partnering with the California Family Life Center (CFLC) to provide gifts for families in need. CFLC is also a partner in EMWD’s Youth Ecology Corps program, which provides job training programs to underserved young adults in the region.

EMWD employees also donated nearly $3,000 to the 100 Mile Club program, which encourages children to become physically active throughout the year.

The direct donations through EMWD are in addition to the countless hours and investments EMWD employees make in the community throughout the year. EMWD employees are engaged in supporting many charitable and nonprofit organizations, including scouting, military and veterans programs, cancer support centers, and much more.

“EMWD employees are proud to serve their community through their jobs, and that commitment to service often carries over into the causes they personally support to better our communities,” EMWD Board President Phil Paule said. “We are incredibly proud of the work that our employees do to enrich the lives of others year-round and during the holiday season.”
