Kitching St and Iris Ave Sewer Pipeline Replacement Project

Project Description:  The project consists of replacing an existing sewer pipeline that is nearing the end of its useable life by installing approximately 3,500 feet of 24-inch pipe primarily along Kitching Street in Moreno Valley.

Project Location:  The project alignment stretches along Kitching Street from Gentian Avenue to Iris Avenue and along Iris Avenue from Kitching Street to La Fortuna Lane.

New Project Updates Available (as of May 14, 2024)

Project Timeline:  The project began construction in January 2024 and is set to finish in the Fall of 2024.  Please note that the construction timelines are rough estimates as the industry continues to work through supply chain issues.

Project Purpose:  The project will increase sewer capacity and reliability to accommodate growth in the City of Moreno Valley.

Project Update (as of May 14, 2024):

  • Crews have currently paused work to allow for another contractor to complete work on another EMWD project.
  • In the coming weeks, work will continue at the intersection of Iris Avenue and Kitching Street.
    • Working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
