Perris, CA (October 4, 2021) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) this week is celebrating Water Professionals Appreciation Week, which honors the employees who help provide safe and reliable water services to our communities.

Water Professionals Appreciation Week was established by a California Senate Concurrent Resolution in 2017. This is the fifth annual week honoring the estimated 60,000 water professionals throughout California.

EMWD has more than 600 employees who help provide water, wastewater and recycled water service to nearly 1 million customers living within a 558-square mile service area. Those employees include career fields ranging from water operations, wastewater treatment, construction, engineering, finance, administrative support, customer service, environmental compliance, public affairs, and much more.

“EMWD staff work hard providing around-the-clock services to the homes, businesses and recreational facilities that depend on us,” EMWD Board President Phil Paule said. “On behalf of our Board of Directors, we want to thank our employees, as well as our colleagues at other agencies, for their commitment to serving the community and their dedication to the water and wastewater industry.”
