EMWD Honored for Creative Outreach Programs

Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) this month was recognized for its innovative approach to communicating with its customers, stakeholders and employees by the Public Relations Society of America’s Inland Empire chapter.

EMWD received three awards at the organization’s annual awards ceremony on November 2, 2023. The Inland Empire chapter includes Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and the awards highlight the highest standards of performance for public relations tactics and programs.

EMWD was recognized for the following work:

  • EMWD received the Polaris Award – the highest honor in a category – for it’s podcast, The Drop, in the audiovisual/podcast division.
  • EMWD received a Capella Award for its 2022 Year In Review in the Annual Report category.
  • Finally, EMWD was recognized with a Capella Award for its Safety First Week campaign, which was presented to its employees as an organizational effort to reaffirm its industry-leading safety culture.

EMWD is routinely honored by various professional organizations and associations for its commitment to engage and educate its customers, stakeholders and employees through a wide range of programs.


Eastern Municipal Water District is the water, wastewater service and recycled water provider to nearly one million people living and working within a 558-square mile service area in western Riverside County.
