Video Contest
THEME: Fix-A-Leak
DEADLINE: Wednesday, March 7, 2025
About the Contest
This is a class-based, teacher-directed project. Students may work alone or in groups of no more than three.
Excessive water usage inside a home is due to sneaky leaks. According to the EPA households across the nation waste close to one trillion gallons of water annually due to common leaks.
Students will brainstorm and develop a video depicting what steps EMWD customers can take to detect leaks and fix them. Below are some helpful links where you can learn more about leaks and how they can be fixed. In a three-minute-video, please depict a story that illustrates what is a leak, and how it can be fixed.
Students will research and create an engaging video that:
- follows EMWD brand guidelines
- briefly introduces EMWD and its services
- builds a fun and engaging storyline rather than just stating facts
- depicts what steps EMWD customers can take to detect leaks and fix them.
Students are encouraged to explore their creativity while filming, editing, and producing an engaging video for an audience of their peers. Production can be live-action or animation.
Video Requirements
- 3 minutes maximum
- Created for EMWD customer audience
- Must include a student biography, teacher biography, and student dedication as credits at the end of the video
- No trademarked or copyrighted artwork or material will be accepted
