Perris, CA (October 4, 2022) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is celebrating the more than 600 employees who bring safe and reliable water, wastewater and recycled water service to its communities as part of Water Professionals Appreciation Week.

Every year, the designated week provides a spotlight to the often-unsung work of water industry professionals and the important work they do on behalf of the public. The celebratory week runs October 1-9 this year.

Throughout the week, EMWD will be highlighting different departments and employees on its social media platforms. The week also helps promote the importance of the water industry as a career path.

As a full-service agency, EMWD has a wide range of career fields that it employs. This includes water operations, wastewater collection and treatment, engineers, information systems, finance, public relations, purchasing, and many more.

EMWD also offers a wide range of career development programs such as internships, apprenticeships and a Youth Ecology Corps program for young adults to explore the water industry as a career option.

“The men and women of EMWD’s workforce are dedicated to serving their community,” EMWD Board President Phil Paule said. “Their work in providing the public with a safe and reliable water and wastewater system is critical toward protecting public health and the environmental success of our region.
