Perris, CA (April 22, 2021) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is offering a new, free Online Contractor Training Program for landscape contractors. Registration for this free program is now open for on-demand training, which teaches contractors about customer incentive programs and introduces technical skills that could help grow their businesses.

Topics covered in the training will include an extensive overview of EMWD’s upcoming Outdoor Water Use Efficiency Program for residents, Landscapes for Living, in addition to the following important areas of interest:

• Incentives and rebates
• Customer service tips
• Irrigation equipment
• Water management tools
• Landscape design
• Planting and maintenance

Coursework consists of online instruction, homework, quizzes and a final exam. Contractors may finish the lessons at their own pace and as their schedules allow. All necessary coursework materials will be provided by EMWD for free.

Licensed landscapers who successfully complete the training by June 1, 2021 will be the first to be listed on the Landscapes for Living website when it launches this summer.

Landscapes for Living is a first-of-its kind program that will offer rebates and free installation of water saving equipment to help EMWD’s residential customers reduce outdoor water use, save money and create beautiful yards.
