On January 11, 2017, EMWD began filling its North Trumble Road
Recycled Water Pond. The storage pond allows EMWD to continue
maximizing its recycled water resources by creating seasonal
storage.
The 900-acre foot pond is EMWD’s first project funded in part
through Proposition 1 (Water Bond) funding, which covered
35-percent of the project costs.
EMWD currently uses 100 percent of its recycled water supply,
which accounts for 36-percent of its water supply portfolio.
Recycled water is used for irrigation of crops, school and park
grounds, public landscaping, recreational facilities and
industrial use.
