Community Updates

Update November 2023

Residents can expect construction activity to begin. The contractor, Christensen Brothers, will begin at the intersection of Bradley and El Rancho Roads and will move east down El Rancho towards Piping Rock Road. There are no water service interruptions expected at this time.

Update July 2023

This project has been awarded to Christensen Brothers General Engineering, Inc. Construction activity is tentatively set to begin later this summer.

Update December 27, 2022

In recent months, EMWD has experienced several breaks on the water pipeline that runs along El Rancho Road and portions of Piping Rock Road and Thornhill Drive. These line breaks cause water outages for nearby residents and are an inconvenience to the community. Considering these breaks and the age of the pipeline, EMWD staff has advanced a pipeline replacement project that will replace the pipelines in the streets mentioned above.

As EMWD moves forward with engineering and design of the project, the community can expect to see crews in the area collecting critical information including:

  • On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, crews will be on El Rancho Road, Piping Rock Road (between El Rancho and Carmel Roads) and on Thornhill Drive (between Bradley Road and Lake Forest Drive) to collect geotechnical samples.
  • In late January and into February 2023, the community can expect to see potholing activity which allows EMWD to verify the existing utilities in the affected roads.
