Randy Record received the ACWA Lifetime Achievement Award on December 4, 2024.
Perris, CA (December 4, 2024) — Longtime Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) Board Member Randy Record was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) this week in honor of his decades of service to California’s water industry.
Record was first elected to EMWD’s Board of Directors in 2001 and is retiring this month. He received the honor at the ACWA Fall Conference and Expo in Palm Desert.
From 2012-2013, Record served as president of ACWA, which plays a critical role in helping its more than 400 member agencies address statewide water policy issues through advocacy, education, and partnerships.
Following his term as ACWA president, Record served as the Chairman of The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) from 2014-2018.
During his time at EMWD and in other leadership roles, Record earned the reputation as a consensus builder. Hailing from a farming background in San Jacinto, he focused on building relationships between urban and rural water users on the local and statewide level.
Record is a longtime advocate for the advancement of recycled water and a key supporter of statewide policies to support the transition from grass to climate appropriate landscaping.
“I want to thank ACWA for this recognition,” Record said. “It has been my honor to represent EMWD, ACWA, and Metropolitan for more than two decades. I am incredibly proud of the work we have done to create a more sustainable water supply future for all Californians.”
