EMWD Secures Three Awards for Region-Leading Community Engagement Efforts
December 16, 2025

Perris, CA (December 16, 2025) – Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has again been recognized for excellence in customer engagement, including earning the region’s highest honor for public outreach.
EMWD took home the prestigious Best In Show award for a public relation campaign at the Public Relations Society of America Inland Empire chapter’s annual Polaris Award. The top honor was for EMWD’s outreach efforts to bring water service to the Los Alamos Hills community in Murrieta.
The rural community did not have access to a municipal water system, and groundwater wells had been failing for many years. The City of Murrieta provided American Rescue Plan Act funding to help advance the project, which brought a modern water system to 36 homes.
The outreach effort also received top marks in the Environmental Sustainability Communications category, in which EMWD also won second place for its Career Technical Education program, which promotes water industry careers to high school students.
EMWD’s outreach efforts include those related to construction projects, helping customers understand the value of water and infrastructure investments, and programs to promote water industry jobs to young adults.
