EMWD Recognized for Outstanding Community Engagement Efforts

Perris, CA (May 18, 2026) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) was honored last week for excellence in public outreach, including earning “Best In Show” at the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) annual conference in San Diego.
EMWD received four honors at the awards gala, including the “Best In Show” award for its documentary video highlighting its 75 years of service to the community. The “Built On Service” documentary video, which debuted in 2025, also received top honors in the “Video – consultant-supported” category.
EMWD was also recognized with the following:

EPIC Award in the Marketing Campaign – In-house category for its campaign to educate City of Perris consolidation customers about EMWD’s MyAccount customer portal.

Award of Distinction in the Graphic Design – Print category for EMWD’s 75th Anniversary book.
“EMWD is incredibly appreciative of the recognition provided by CAPIO,” EMWD Board President Stephen Corona said. “We are proud of the work we have done to educate and engage our customers, and these awards are a byproduct of that commitment.”
