Perris, CA (September 8, 2026) — For the 22nd consecutive year, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has presented Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) with its Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, in recognition of its industry-leading work in financial reporting.

The award highlights agencies that demonstrate outstanding achievement in government accounting and transparency. EMWD received the honor for its Fiscal Year 2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

To be eligible for the award, agencies must demonstrate a “spirit of full disclosure” in clearly communicating their financial story. Their annual report must be accessible, meticulously organized, and adhere to accounting principles and best practices.

EMWD is a AAA-rated organization, whose strong credit rating and adherence to fiduciary best practices ensures it provides exceptional value to its customers.

“Our customers have entrusted us to use their funds responsibly, and to provide a full accounting of how we have used those funds to provide a more reliable water supply future,” EMWD Board President Stephen Corona said. “We are proud to again be honored for our commitment to financial transparency and thank the GFOA for this recognition.”
