Perris, CA (April 30, 2026) —Eastern Municipal Water District President Stephen J. Corona has been reelected to the Board of Commissioners for the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) for the western district of Riverside County.
Corona was first elected to a three-year term in 2023 as a Special District representative. The LAFCO Board includes two Riverside County Supervisors, two City Council representatives, two special district representatives, and a member of the public.
The Board’s responsibilities are focused on the regulatory and planning functions related to jurisdictional boundaries for local agencies and their respective services.
Corona has served on EMWD’s Board of Directors since 2018 and has served as EMWD’s Board President since January 2025. He previously served on the Board of Directors at Rancho California Water District for 16 years.
Corona represents EMWD’s Division 2, which includes the City of Temecula, Temecula’s Wine Country, and the northern portion of San Diego County.
“I am honored to be able to continue supporting EMWD and LAFCO’s shared mission of responsible and efficient governance,” Corona said. “Special districts play a critical role in our region’s economy and quality of life, and I look forward to the opportunity to serving the residents of western Riverside County.”
