September 5, 2024
Perris, CA (September 6, 2024) — For the 20th consecutive year, Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) has been recognized with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its 2023 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
The GFOA Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and it represents a significant accomplishment by an organization and its management.
To be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, an organization must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. This report must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
“EMWD is honored to be recognized for the 20th straight year for its commitment to public trust and sound financial practices,” EMWD Board President Phil Paule said. “We thank the GFOA for this honor, which recognizes the culture of transparency and financial planning we have established within our organization.”
The GFOA is a nonprofit organization for government finance professionals that promotes transparency by its 21,000 members.
