High School Field Trips and Tours

EMWD’s Education program offers field trips and classroom presentations for students in grade levels 9-12 from the 11 school districts and private schools within its service area. Each field trip is limited to a maximum of 35 students and requires a teacher plus three chaperones to attend. Classroom presentations can be in-person or virtual in-lieu of a field trip. We have three field trips and three class room presentation options available, according to grade level. Field trips range from 1 hour to 3.5 hours.

Desalination Complex: A two hour field trip of our newly completed Desalination Complex, located in Menifee, CA. Students will learn about local brackish groundwater and how desalination is used to bring EMWD’s groundwater to drinking water standards. Maximum of 35 students per tour. Pre-presentation is required.

2	Filtration Facility	6th-12th	Thursdays	1.5 Hour	1283 N. Kirby Street,  Hemet, CA 92545
Filtration Facility: A one and a half hour field trip of our water filtration facility, located in Hemet, CA. Students will learn how imported water is filtered to a high standard before it is distributed to residents as tap water. Maximum of 35 students per tour. Pre-presentation is required. REQUEST NOW   3 Wastewater Facility 3rd-12th Wednesdays 3.5 Hours 770 N. Sanderson Avenue,  San Jacinto, CA 92582 Wastewater Facility: This tour ranges from one hour to three and half hours depending on customizable options. The tour is of a reclamation facility located in San Jacinto, CA. If the time on the website for the field trip or in-person presentation does not work for you, please reserve the closest available time. In the additional comments section of the reservation form, include the time that is preferred. The education team will do their best to accommodate your request but it is not guaranteed. Field trip requests are not a guarantee of a field trip. Requests will be reviewed by the education team to determine eligibility before confirmation is given.
