EMWD's Water Education Program provides in-service training to teachers in the 11 school districts and private schools within Eastern's service area. We require that teachers receive in-service training in the use of certain water education materials before these materials can be given out.
Materials requiring an in-service include:
- All About Water (grades K-3)
- Admiral Splash (grade 4 & 5)
- Water Ways (grade 5)
- Water Times (grade 6)
- The Geography of Water (grades 4-6)
- Water Quality and Water Politics (grades 7-12)
The reason for the in-service requirements is that these water education materials are comprehensive and complex, and it is important that teachers be given an opportunity to explore the full depth and scope of the materials.
Occasionally, EMWD offers tours for educators to Southern California water facilities. To be placed on an interest list for future special events and tours for educators, send an email message to PublicandGovtAffairs@emwd.org.
