State Street Pipeline Replacement Project 

Project Purpose:  In partnership with the City of Hemet, improves operational efficiency and water reliability for the community. 

Project Location:  Located along State Street between Stetson Avenue and Chambers Street in Hemet, CA.

Project Description: This project will consist of the replacement of approximately 3,000 feet of existing 20-inch steel pipeline which has been encroached upon in multiple areas and is nearing the end of its useful life. 

Project Timeline: This project is set to begin construction in the summer of 2025 and last through summer 2026.

Traffic Impacts and Anticipated Lane Closures: To ensure the safety of the community, motorists, and our crews, temporary lane closures will be set up in the roadway and remain in place, including during non-working hours.  There will be lane reductions with alternative lane alignments throughout the project.  Motorists can anticipate traffic delays on State Street.

EMWD will provide the community with advance notice of the lane closure dates through electronic signage, customer mailings, and other methods.

Daytime Work Hours:  7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Nighttime Work Hours:  8:00 p.m. - 5:00 a.m. 

SAFETY REMINDER: EMWD asks that all motorists use extra caution when traveling on State Street and obey all posted signage, detour routes, closures, and speed limits. The speed limit through the construction zone is 30 miles per hour.  This will ensure the safety of our crews, drivers, and the community.
