Mission Canyon Pipeline and Pump Station Replacement

Mission Canyon Area Improvements

Mission Canyon Pump Station Rendering

Purpose:  Improve access and reliability of drinking water transmission for the community.

Project Description: Replacement and relocation of existing Mission Canyon II Pump Station, and installation of approximately 3,200 feet of suction/discharge pipeline. 

Project Location: Along Gibbel Road in the unincorporated Hemet Area of Riverside County, east of State Street. 

Mission Canyon I Pipeline
• Approximately 850 linear feet of 12-inch PVC
• Additional Infrastructure Improvements: Paving access road near the tank site, renovating the valve  enclosure piping, and adjusting the existing fence around the tank

Mission Canyon II Pump Station
• Pre-Packaged: Two fabricated buildings: one for pumping units and one for the emergency standby generator
• Site Improvements
– Civil, mechanical, electrical, and landscape
• Off-site Improvements
– Approximately 4,200 feet of new 12-inch PVC pipeline and 1,000 feet of new 8-inch PVC pipeline

•Eliminates a cross-country pipeline

•Existing pipelines will be abandoned

•Existing booster will be demolished

•Environmental Impact Survey

Project Timeline:  The project is set to begin construction in early 2025 and last through winter of 2026.
