Water Charges and Deposits

Meter Costs - Water meters 2” or smaller will be furnished and installed by District personnel; meters larger than 2” are to be furnished by the applicant and must be an EMWD approved meter type. (For current meter cost refer to Schedule of Fees).

Water Financial Participation Charges – The Water Financial Participation Charge (FPC) is collected to provide a source of funds to finance water main facilities, booster pumping plants, storage tanks, and Improvement District and General District system facilities, as necessary to meet the additional service requirements necessitated by community growth and to distribute the costs fairly among those who create the need for additional facilities.

The Water Financial Participation Charges are computed based on the Equivalent Meter Size (EMS) factor multiplied by the FPC per EMS. Applicable EMS factors are as follows:

*Captures Low Flow
**Recommended for Landscape (captures high flow)
***Recommended for system meters or agricultural applications  

Notes:

1. Published maximum continuous flow ratings by meter size and manufacturer

2. Meter manufacturers and sizes per EMWD's approved material list

3. 1 EMS = 15 gpm (max continuous flow through 5/8" x 3/4" meter)
