EMWD Residential Rebate Programs

EMWD has the following residential rebate programs available through Metropolitan Water District's Water$mart program:

High Efficiency Toilet Rebate Program: up to $300

Replace a standard 3.5 gallon-per-flush or larger toilet with a new HET (1.28 gallon per flush or less) or Dual Flush Toilet.

The rebate program offers participating customers flexibility to select the toilet color, model and price range of their choice. Toilets must be on the qualified list to be eligible for the rebate.

Participating residential customers are not limited to one new toilet under this rebate program. Every toilet in the home that is not a 1.6-gallon ULFT, HET or Dual Flush Toilet is eligible for replacement and a $300 rebate (not to exceed the price the participant actually pays for the toilet).

High Efficiency Toilet Upgrade/New Construction: $30

Install a 1.28 gpf (or less) in new construction or replace a 1.6 gpf toilet with a High Efficiency Toilet or Dual Flush Toilet. Toilets must be on the qualified list to be eligible for the rebate.

High-Efficiency Clotheswasher Rebate Program: $285

EMWD water customers are eligible to receive a rebate of $285 on their purchase of a qualifying high-efficiency clotheswasher with a water factor of 5.0 or less. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The program will continue until all funds are expended.

Rebates for Smart Controllers: $145 plus $6.50 per station over 12 stations.

The latest innovation in irrigation is the smart controller, a device that gives your plants the right amount of water for the time of year, climate and weather.

Once installed and programmed, watering run-times are automatically adjusted with the seasons. Residents saved more than 40 gallons per household per day after installation, according to one research study. Savings are up to 10 times greater on large landscapes, like those at parks, colleges and industrial complexes. (Note: to realize significant savings you will need to have a well-designed and well-maintained irrigation system.)

Residential customers with 1 or more acres of land are eligible for a rebate of $830 per irrigated acre.

Rotating Nozzles for Pop-Up Spray Head: $6 per nozzle

The latest innovation in sprinkler technology are nozzles that turn a standard sprinkler head into a precision device that can water your landscape better using 20 percent less water. These nozzles shoot multi-trajectory, rotating streams that apply water more slowly and uniformly than conventional sprays and rotors - especially when adjusted for specific site conditions. In addition to reducing water use, the water jetting from these nozzles is more resistant to wind, less likely to mist, and significantly reduces run-off on to streets and sidewalk.

NEW: Synthetic Turf Rebate: $0.50 per square foot

Retrofit or new construction: now is the time to consider replacing your grass with synthetic turf! Synthetic turf is a great alternative for both small and large landscapes - wherever grass is currently used.
