Paying Your Bill Online

Once you select the Pay Bill Online option, you see the payment options screen. The default option is to pay by credit card. However, you can also pay by electronic check.

To pay your bill by credit card:

1. Select the type of credit card from the drop-down list. EMWD takes MasterCard and Visa.

2. Enter the number on the front of your credit card. Enter the number without spaces or dashes.

3. Select your card's expiration date using the drop-down selections. The expiration date is printed on the front of your credit card.

4. Enter the Credit Card Security Code. This is the last three numbers from the number printed over the signature area on the back of the card.

5. Enter the ZIP code of the billing address for your credit card account.

6. Select the payment option from the options available. At present, the only option is to pay the entire amount of the bill.

7. Select the Submit button to send the information to VeriSign's secure web site to authorize the payment. If you don't want to pay your bill at this time, select the Cancel button.

Payment Confirmation

After selecting the Submit button, you will see the Payment Confirmation screen. You should print a copy of this screen for your records.

This screen lets you know the status of your credit card payment:

• If “Approved” then the payment transaction has been approved. The payment will be posted to your account within two business days.

• If “Declined” then the payment transaction has not been approved. Another method of payment should be made.

• If “Invalid” information, then the credit card information was not entered correctly.

It also provides other useful information:

• Payment Authorization Code
  This is the authorization number if the payment is approved by the credit card issuer

• Customer Account #
  The number for your EMWD account

• Time
  The date and time of the payment transaction

• Amount
  The amount of the payment charged to your credit card account

• Confirmation number
  The confirmation number of the payment transaction used by the credit card company. If you have a question about this transaction, use this number when contacting your card issuer.

At this point you can...

• Return to the Current Account Screen
  Select the Return to Account Button. You will see an alert window notifying you that you have left a data encrypted web page. Select “Yes” to continue to the Account Information screen.

• View your payment history
  Select the Payment History option from the "Your Account" navigation options on the left side of the screen. You will see an alert window notifying you that you have left a data encrypted web page. Select “Yes” to continue.

• View your billing history
  Select the Billing History option from the "Your Account" navigation options on the left side of the screen. You will see an alert window notifying you that you have left a data encrypted web page. Select “Yes” to continue.

• Log out of the system
  Select the Log out button at the top right of the screen. This button appears at the top right of all screens in the Online Billing system. Be sure to log out when you are ready to leave the EMWD Online Bill Payment system.
